Had a look at the plate on mine today and can't seem to find the oils it recommends I was thinking of putting some margarine in it

I can't believed that's better than butter.

He must have taken the saying 'any lubrication is better than no lubrication' literally

I got quite a few

I have Youtube Premium now but NOT at the silly UK price. When I was in South Africa earlier this year Youtube offered me the local South African rate. R71.99 per month which at today's rate comes to £3.45 per month.

Happy to pay that fee to not have to use all sorts of blockers/firewalls/private ddns servers etc to stay add free.

The blockers work well on a PC but on a tv and mobile devices it is hard work setting it all up/reduce battery life/sometimes block things or apps you want to use.

You could possibly get Youtube Premium even cheaper by subscribing to it via another country (India maybe?)

Just looked at Brave Browser it says it contains ads?

I use Vivaldi for almost everything to be honest: I'm not an expert with Brave by any means. I have a link to my Youtube Watch Later list on the Android home screen that is set to open in Brave. I never see any ads, but I only use it for youtube.

And let's not forget this section is all about lathes.
Wasn't lard commonly used as a cutting lube for many years

Thanks @fizzy ,a good few hours was spent watching those very competent hard working men/boys,no wonder they undercut us ,I particularly liked the rotovator builder connecting his impact wrench without the use of a plug. Great viewing.

I know people tend to poke fun at certain countries and their working techniques but I really enjoyed this video.
Loved the trick with the rag of oil in the dead centre hole.
Not bad work - wonder if that is a Lang lathe?

I was rebuilding a big 1200 ton clearing press at ford Dagenham back in the early to mid nineties.
A roll of steel came off whilst reloading a decoiler on the caumow wheel line fifty yards away
One of the machine maintenance guys tried to stop it unfortunately. Two young kids became orphaned. It did haunt me for a few years

When I was doing my apprenticeship we used tallow to lubricate dead centres.
