Looks very nice - around 4 tons though so no chance of shipping that on a pallet!
Says it has little wear and looks well equipped.
Still kicking myself I didn't buy that toolroom Holbrook a few months ago.

There is also a nice vintage C8 but his reserve is rather high so probably nop bids.

A friend of mine used to live in Martin Street, Stratford, which is where the factory was. He used to walk past it without giving it a second thought. It no longer exists and has been under the old Stratford shopping centre since the 1970s

A friend has a Holbrook minor. It too has an RPM gauge but not quite as nice a one.

Sounds like Dublin, any factory or workshop has been or is being knocked down and hideous apartment blocks built on them .

The little Holbrook CB No.8 is a lovely thing. I wonder what reserve is on it? It's easily a £2k machine, maybe more...

problem with all these older machines is, although the quality is awesome and they're lovely to look at, it's a bit of a pain for anyone wanting a single machine to do-it-all for modern repair shop work, metric screw cutting etc. It would be cool to see some enterprising soul take the likes of that big 21 and convert everything to metric... Bit of a big job, but certainly possible.

21 have provisions for metric screw cutting and I prefer a imperial leadscrew

Aye but by "provision" you mean, reading a chart and swapping changewheels? Or are they dual pitch type like a colchester/Harrison, with a single set of changewheels?
I know what you mean, a DRO takes the pain out of imperial-metric for everything except screw cutting.
