Newbie wqith a few qs

OK GUYS PLEASE BE NICE!!!!
i have an old car but needs some welding thinking of attempting to weld it myself i have a little experience in mig welding but need some advice to which welder to buy i dont want something big as limited space for storage and also any advice to what i should be careful about when welding said car !!!!!!
ps i live in melbourne aus so something world universal

Welcome to the forum.
Any hobby mig will do, one that goes down to 20amp would be nice and if its only for car work then the upper range is not really important, however it's nice to have a little bit of power for the occasional job so something like a 150amp machine would be ideal.

Not sure if you have the same machines for sale as whats in the UK, but a browse of the forum will soon identify the good from the bad.

Apart from the obvious of petrol, remove the battery, consider the heat getting to the wiring / carpets/ anything that will burn.

Fire extinguisher / Ramps / Good axle stands / wheel chocks/ and help if something does go wrong.
