Hi all, newbie here and just bought myself a 2nd hand Lincoln Compact 220 for some home diy - by all accounts I've all the gear and no idea :-) well to be fair I used to mig years ago but didn't do much but have a need to now. So the welder has been setup for aluminium welding, to convert to mild steel mig is it a case of just changing the spool for mild steel and run CO2? I'm sure I heard that u need to change polarity to weld ally (-?) and ms (+?) but there's no switch to flick or anything on this unit and nothing in the manual - any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
