Hi all, as a complete newbie I have a question regarding welding 2 mm thick mild steel with 135TE with 0.6mm wire and Argon/CO2 mix. i've tried running some lines of weld on flat 2 mm sheet but the results are so bad I wouldn't dare post pictures of them here. My question is very simple - what settings should I use on the welder for just running beads of world on flat 2 mm mild steel plate? Second question- my intention is actually to weld a 2mm thick patch onto a 2mm thick section of car chassis. Should I use the same setting when I'm welding the patch onto the chassis as when I'm just welding beads on the flat steel? If not could someone suggest what settings I should use? Final question - the patch actually needs to be fixed on the side of the chassis so two of the welds will be vertical. Should I use the same settings there? Should I go upwards or downwards on the vertical welds? Sorry for all the newbie questions. I'll be the first to admit I really don't know what I'm doing! Thanks for any advice, Will.
