Howdo,
A newbie here so be nice :-)
I was kindly given a batch of Murex Nicrex 5 rods for free. I couldn't find anything on Nicrex 5 on the interweb but the specs are AWS A5. 11, NiCrFe 3.
While I see that these NiCrFe rods are used for welding dissimilar metals I also heard they could be used on Cast Iron. I'm not sure if this is correct as the info' I have is a bit ambiguous.
I have an old drillpress that has the 'arc of shame' on the table. My intention was to fill in the drill holes to get it back to some semblance of beauty using the Nicrex 5 rods (if they can be used on cast iron). The use of the rods will be for cosmetic reasons rather than anything structural. Will the Nicrex 5 do the job?
Many thanks,
Richard.
