Newbie needing advice.....

Hi guys, new to the site and to welding... so new Ive never even used one!! lol!!

Anyway, I have a question....

I bought a boat recently and the trailer was knackered, so we have decided to make a new one...
4mm box section mild steel....

Which is the best type of welder to use??

My uncle has a mig welder I could use or would an Arc welder be better??
