Hey everyone
Been lurking around here for months now, getting loads of ideas etc!
Essentially im 19, nearly 20 Studying Chemistry at Loughborough and I'm really into my motorsport!
The only welding I've done is Arc on a little Llidl buzz box but was fortunate enough to be taught by a pro welder from a company called Manuflex with good quality rods. I learnt a lot and have put in a lot of hours, ive tried to weld thin stuff but very unsuccesfully!
My dad's recently brought a Mk IV Triumph Spitfire 1300 project, and it is a full restoration job, every day we go out and sweep up some more rust off the drive!
So as there is so much welding we need to sort out a mig welder.
My question is, would this do the job? http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=28038 We've an extremely limited budget atm so this is a brilliant price if it would. Im not expecting to do all the welding in one day, just bits and pieces in stops and starts!
I'm planning a week hot course to weld to some BS 4872 standard in MIG and maybe TIG if possible as i'd love to learn without the expense of buying a TIG
Any advice would be great!
I will also post up about a MIG i have that doesnt work and ill put the link in!

Thanks
Mike
