Newbie Air spray gun user

I have no idea about spray painting and would like to get one set up for my current compressor.

I want to spray paint large parts that ive just welded up in a cold galvanised paint or some sort. I got this stuff in mind.. assuming it is mixed well before being put in the bottle on the gun would this spray at all?

And yes im planning to use a airfed welding helmet when spraying this stuff..

But yeah can you guys help me on what spray gun to get and what paint mix to get so i can weather proof stuff.. ideally using 1 paint mix with multiple coats as needed

The compressor has enough cfm as it currently drives a large plasma cutter atm so it has enough air delivery for a airgun

gravity gun with a 2.0mm set up would be my choice

they offer rattle can versions of that paint so i guess it would thin down , i would hunt around a bit and find a brand that offers up a tech sheet with info on how to spray , then follow their advice on thinner and ratios etc

Is this a temporary coating or something a bit more permanent? If it is a permanent 1 coat finish you are after I have had good results with Galvafroid before.

If that is not 2k paint I would just buy a suitable respirator , will save the filter in the helmets air feed unit clogging up with paint (I doubt they are suitable for the stuff in paint fumes anyway). If you do end up using 2k, the air fed helmet will not help you - if it is anything like mine it supplies air from the feed unit on your belt which will just be supplying you air that may end up killing you.

Permanent coating bud.. I wont be using 2k paint due to the risks and i dont have the set up to do it safely as im not the only person in the workshop etc. But yeah its just something to stop a part rusting when outside and looks semi decent.. But i just need to know what kind of paint i can use on what kind of spray gun etc.
