Newbe intro

Hi all,,
I have just joined the forum, as I have been reading the threads for a while as I am looking to buy my first welder (even though the wife dont want me too!

I am from Bristol in the UK and in my spare time I service and "Help" look after my friends motorbikes (R1, VN900, VN1700, GSXR,etc) and I have 2 bikes myself and a project Honda Rebel 450 '86 , but I am now finding that to complete my project chopper, I need to do some basic welding, and I want to do it myself.

I have never used a welder and I have watched more video's than I care to consider.

So, I will apologies now if I post any questions that have been asked twenty thousand times before, like "which welder should I buy?"

Welcome to the forum and your 'which welder' question should consider your budget..stretch it as far as you can, present use...future use when you are 'hooked' and thinking of all those things you could make

My only tip so far...buy good and buy once.

Hello and welcome Huddy. Might you maybe get your mates to chip in/invest in the welder with a view to all learning to weld at same time? could up your budget...

welcome to the forum mate, is that looking after the bikes thing a secret to you own them but know she will castrate you if she knew you own them all!?
