Newb!!

hey guys im from south africa .. really battling

Im needing to weld a vw mk1 to fix body work and made a few holes
thing is im not even sure what to call the welder im using .. its got a gas bottle and an inverter with a torch kinda thing you hold that you insert a small piece of tungsten into .. no feed .. then you are apparently meant to insert the metal to weld once you have arced this device .. please can someone out there give me some pointers as im pretty keen to get it right but am abit clueless atm if my settings are right etc .. I keep making the end of the sharp point that goes into the torch a round blob from the metal im trying to weld with : /

hello sounds like you have a TIG welder to me. Have a reed of some of the posts in the TIG section

Yep that sounds like TIG.
