Newarc Tig 300

Hi all,I bought a tig 300 at a local car boot sale with no leads no idea if it's working bought it very cheap so no big outlay,I have an old Philips oil filled arc welder which has a 80volts setting on it,is it possible to run this (if it works) with this welder and where would I get a power lead to to go from the tig 300 to the arc welder any information would be appreciated ta....

Hi,thanks for the info, so I really need the power source to be a newarc psu,with leads then I'm into 3 phase which is no good to me maybe a generator with 110 might help would like you get to see if it even powers up will trawl the net to see whats out there cheers..

I have a container full of power sources for the Newarc Tig and Mig feeders and the cables to run them. PM me if you need any help. Don't waste any time trying to get the HF box to work on your welder, you'll never get it to run right.

Why would a 'generator with 110' help?

Not sure read somewhere someone was using something similar to do I wanted to do ...

Hi, thanks for the reply my problem is I don't know if this will even power up so I don't want to pay out big money until I know this is working would be interested in a power lead and try and get it to power up first or a wiring diagram for the pins ...

This unit is designed to operate in conjunction with a small range of newarc power supplies.

Yes, it's possible to get it going with other power sources, but it's going to require surgery to the unit




, the source, or more likely both. For a start, you need some sort of source that has (or can have retrofitted) a remote control system.

Not to be rude here, but the statement/question about a 110 generator shows that the above as a project is well over your knowledge level.

I'm not saying "you don't know what you're doing so leave it alone", but you have to be prepared for the fact that you'll be poking around with potentially lethal power levels if you get anything wrong (or actually, if you get it right too).

I wouldn't consider it a first time project - something a bit more 'basic' (like an hfu rather than a controller) would be far more suitable.

Yes I think your right I will stick to the mig and arc welder, definitely over my head thanks for your help will sell it on cheers....

No, but it will run off an R300MP or an R4500MP.
