New workshop lighting

I need to fit new strip lights in my workshop and have seen LED is the way forward, i am after 6ft units but don't know the lingo for there brightness or colour ..What am i after is i need super bright gigglewatt light, is the term "lumens" when buying these LED and whats the range from dim to bright?...Thanks in advance guys

Led battens seem to be more directional than fluorescents ie the light spread is not as good.
So if you have a low ceiling you might have to have the led battens mounted closer together to cover all your floor space, so you will need extra lights.

I replaced the tubes over the bench, twin 5 foots. I find working on some things, painting as an example, if it’s not in direct light I have to use a head torch because of the shadow. It seems to be more directional if that’s possible. It’s light Jim, but not as we know it!
