New wheels for a stationary engine trolly

I have done a small project over the holidays. Needed some wheels for a trolly I am making to transport a Lister D stationary engine. Got some of these

Then did a bit machining in the Myford

To leave me with these

Then onto the pillar drill

And then onto the mill to enlarge the holes.

To give me 2 wheels for my trolly.

A quick luck of green paint and all done.

What were they like to machine? Dad's (second) lister is nearly back together and will be needing a trolley soon enough.

They machine great once you get through the paint and corrosion. The bare metal it is really soft and cuts well.

Good to know. How did you hold it in the lathe?

Drilled and tapped 3 holes all the way through to correspond with the holes on the lathe face plate so l could clamp it from both sides. Then used a center in the original center hole to get it somewhere near and bolt it up to the plate. When I machined the 3 large holes it did away with the tapped holes.

Continued the original on my trolly, got the axel made

Not the neatest welds ever but hopefully they will hold.
Chassis made and painted and the handles made.

The wheels roll very well. Just have to paint the handles and lift the engine on.
