am still undecided which van ,short list is sprinter,crafter,transit(rwd). I do mainly short journeys & am concerned about the modern technology/reliability as I'm used to old style German stuff that rarely gives me trouble and is cheap to fix, talking around those days seem gone,,what are other members experiences?

buy new and get shot after 60 thousand miles otherwise there a money pit

I went from a high mileage VW T4 to a low mileage Renault Trafic, one year on and I am happy with it so far.
Down sides of the Trafic are:
Seat cloth is not very hard wearing, starting to fray on the edges where you slid in and out of the van.
Bodywork seems quite light gauge, very easy to mark.
Upsides are:
Better fuel economy.
6th gear.
Air conditioning.
Better mirrors.
Turbo is quieter and has a better spread of power.
More storage in cockpit.
Things I miss from the T4, Trafic owners don't give you the wave when they see another Trafic!
