New toy, needs new belts. Any online suppliers?

Picked up this little investment yesterday.

Almost finished cleaning, lubricating and rewiring.

Seems pretty good, well made and despite a worn pinion tooth, in decent shape. The motor is really noisy though so I may have to strip it and put in new bearings if I can't stick it.

Thing is, it could really do with new belts. I have no idea of the size though and don't know of any suppliers locally. Any online places recommended? I'm sure I'll be able to find out how to measure mine.

Still pondering the lack of guards issue...

Has an intermediate pulley setup too, so a greater range of speeds than a standard twin pulley setup. Very nice find.

I use automotive belts for something like that (motor factors) Just get your self a bit of 3 core flex and it sits in the V of the pullys nice to measure the length of belts you need..Most Automotive belts are coded in mm,s anyway.

Great stuff, thanks guys. There is one auto place I can try locally first tomorrow, otherwise, I'll order something based on the measurements I've got that should fit.

It's come together really nicely but I'm going to have to tear down the motor and change the bearings - it's intolerable! I found a site where someone restored a similar model and listed all the bearing data for the drill... So I might change the lot. I haven't worked out the theoretical top speed but at the moment, the motor can't overcome the combined drag of crappy belts and new grease in old bearings.

It's a bit difficult to tell from the camera angle but those belts don't look like they're lined up properly, the pulleys should line up so that the belts are straight. It looks like the motor should be higher. Try turning the motor round in its mounting and then fitting the mounting the other way round so the motor sits higher.

Goodness, you're keen eyed! And correct. The motor needs to come up a touch more and the plate will foul the belts if I flip it. As I'll have to remove the motor pulley to replace the bearings, I'll not put it back so far on. It's only about 5mm out. Thanks though!

When I did my Progress drill I set on a level surface and put a spirit level across the tops of the pulleys
