I've been looking at buying a saw mill so I can mill my own timber but couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger, then the distributor in Sweden emailed me to say that because of the fall in the value of the pound post Brexit he was going to have to increase prices so I've bitten the bullet and ordered one before the price rise takes effect.
Just received confirmation from DHL that they have collected it and they have estimated delivery for Friday .

In reality I preferred the TrakMet 600 as it was heavier duty and only slightly more expensive but annoyingly only available with a 3 phase electric motor which means milling in situ is pretty much out of the question.
The HM126 has a 9.5Hp Kohler engine so easy to use on site

We were lucky enough to get the chance to buy 16 acres of woodland and meadow for a really cheap price so we jumped at the chance and have never regretted it.

Hi, A friend of mine told me the story of his grandfather who was a tree surgeon before and after the war. He bought the trees to clear in a Canadian army camp near Guildford. He spent all day driving his pre war tractor, which only went walking pace, over there. The following day he went over with his team of men to fell them all. What he didn't know was they were in a previously live fire training ground and were all peppered with bullets and so were useless. He was not best pleased.

I had a demo of a Norwood at the CONFOR show and I preferred it to the Woodmizer but it was still pricey for what it is.
The blade case on the Norwood is plastic and on the demo one it had distorted so when the guy operating the saw cleared the case of sawdust he had difficulty lining the doors back up to close them... on an £8000 + vat machine!

Seemingly a lot of timber imported from Russia is full of bullets. A plentiful supply of vodka and ak47s! Some timber yards round here were getting magnets fitted to the conveyors.

Why fit magnets...anything fired from an ak is going to be lead...anything fired from most guns is going to be lead if you are just rattling rounds off

I think a lot of russian military stuff had steel cores, namely the bullet was cheaper steel with a lead jacket. Cheap and nasty.

Think you might find its metal detectors and not magnets that are fitted into the wood mills machinery.

Err... "dangerous wood lathe" - I don't see that it's inherently more dangerous than most other saws. And it's not a lathe.... Other than that, 10/10 for accurate video titling

Not a clue I just know the firm that was fitting the magnet/ metal detector to a local quarry was telling us.
