Laserlevels online do a selection but for outdoor use a pulse laser that works with a receiver. High end ones can work horizontal and vertical with a bracketFunny enough i have just used my Dewalt on a couple of fencing posts..had to wait though for it to get a bit dark as the red line is hard to see during the day. I would like a really bright green one that can be used in normal daylight, anyone know of such a device?
They're more complicated, red lasers use a diode that directly emits red light, so it's just a diode and a lens, but it's much harder to make diodes directly produce green light (They do exist as of 2010 apparently), so most green lasers use a diode that emits infra red, a magic powered crystal to convert that to green light, and a filter to block any stray infra red. Incidentally, that also makes cheap green lasers more dangerous, as they can (And often do) emit significantly more power than they claim in the infrared band, so they'll blind you with reflections you can't even see.Looked at the Green Lasers but there far more expensive than the Red for some reason..
So a green it is then..cheersThey're more complicated, red lasers use a diode that directly emits red light, so it's just a diode and a lens, but it's much harder to make diodes directly produce green light (They do exist as of 2010 apparently), so most green lasers use a diode that emits infra red, a magic powered crystal to convert that to green light, and a filter to block any stray infra red.
