Hi just checking in to say hello, was pointed here by a co Lancia owner. I am about to embark on the restoration of a 1979 Lancia which is surprisingly solid but still has a fair few holes but less than I was expecting.
Anyway to to make the restoration more affordable I intend to do all there work myself though I have never mig welded before. To that end on advice from a trusted friend I have invested in an R-tech 181 (new) this has an easy set up which apparently should help me being a welding virgin. I've now got to get a bottle of Gas which I will be getting from a Hobbyweld outlet as suggested by the sales guy I am unsure though on the argon mix as to whether I am better with 95% or 75% I am sure i read some where the latter is what's need though reading that 95% is the one. i am going to practice first on some sore bits of metal before i start on the car. I also have the added joy of having to fabricate every repair as no panels are available for this model
wish me luck
