New to tig. Torch questions

Completely new to tig, have never tried it. I have a r tech 140a mma set and want to use the scratch rig function. Done a little bit of research but still not completely sure, do I need a wp17 torch? Is a wp9 to small amp wise?

Will this torch bellow suit my needs. The valved option. Trigger no use so wires will be cut. My budget is low so looking for something cheap, nothing fancy. Have the same style torch on my plasma and it feels good.

A wp9 (125 amp) will be very usable on a 140 amp unit. You won't be running consistently at 120 amps and above because the torch and the unit will be pushed outside there duty cycle. So I'd say the two would make a nice pair.

You'll get a cheap valved wp9. Don't buy one with a switch and cables etc. that's just added cost.
I'd expect you'll get a cheap valved 9 for around 20quid.

Nope. Was a guess out the air but I'll have a look.

You will also need an Argon reg,flowmeter,Tig adaptor and a length of Argon hose.If you intend using a scratch kit let me know.

The valved torches I have seen have a few metres of gas hose connected into the side of the dinse connector. I will need a regulaor and I was going to use a pea shooter flow metre.

Also noted the torch in link does not come with any consumables. Not exactly an issue as would have to get some spares any how. Also noticed different size, number Gas shrouds, what size would I need?

Suggest you use the following consumables:-Gas Lens 45v44, Number 6 Ceramic cup 53N60,Collet 24GLC332,Medium Back Cap 41V35.All these item will fit the WP 9 Torch,they are all to suit a 2.4mm Tungstan.
