New to tig,pics for ridicule?

Hi there,I bought a second hand cebora pulse tig 100, seems a nice little machine,I think its a scratch start,but stand to be corrected.
Anyway,I fired it up & had a go at pulse & continuous,no filler,just trying to run a line on some very thin steel sheet,about 1mm thick.
Opinions would be very much apreciated,thanks.

Yes I worked that out after looking at the tutorials,should be a straw colour,& too much trough,I was running at about 30 amp.
I will have another go in the next couple of days & see if I can do better,Thank you for your help.

Thank you,I will get the hang of this in the end,it was quite enjoyable,thats got to be a plus!

Try and keep as short an arc as possible, this will help to stop the heat spreading over a wider area, it is a lot easier to practise on stainless steel than mild steel as well.
With such thin sheet you must let it cool between runs.
The key is a steady and consistent travel speed, torch angle and arc length, with a bit more practise you will get the hang of it fella

You only need to aim for straw colour on stainless steel, mild steel will never be the same, I would try to get hold of some thicker materials 2mm plus, 1mm is like trying to learn to juggle with six balls at once, if I was your I would not be messing around with the pulse until you are confident with the basic setting and begin laying down consistent welds.
