Pretty simple. I take my wery heawy leg and place on the rim.
Yes it is full of air and intestinal gas...

Hey!!! not dissing the idea Im sure Ive seen it in use somewhere in the past. Its probably very stable, yet also moveable it you need to. Saves drilling fixing holes in the floor. Just needs a lick of paint

What is the risk of grinding sparks melting there way into the inflated tyre? Probably unlikey, but still a risk?

(Edit: of course if used for just polishing, then not an issue)

Interesting little mig welder you have sitting there in the background. I've never seen the ESAB Comapct 125 with an enclosed wire spool. All the ones I have come across have the wire sitting on a bracket at the back - I've never seen the 'Mini' version before. Just the Miggy 125 and the later Compact 125.

Do you still use it? I have had one for donkey's years and it's been faultless. I put a Euro torch conversion on it some while ago and it's given it a new lease of life!

My grinder / polisher stand (2" water pipe) is welded to a 14" wheel rim and then filled with concrete. Then I fitted a couple of 2 or 3" casters to the rim and when I need to move it, I just pull it 6 or 8 " towards me so the wheels touch the floor and wheel it around. I'm too lazy to walk to the shed and take a photo !
