I have an old Ferm radial pillar drill, dont use the radial part.
It drills holes, 350 watt motor nothing wrong with it.
99 percent of the time I drill 6mm holes in 3mm steel so nothing gigantic.
Looking to buy a new one with less depth With it been a radial drill I have to use it on an angle on my 600mm work bench.
I've looked at Meddling, Fobco etc but they seem to be £300 ish at the moment.
I have also looked at Screwfix at their Schappach and Draper bench drills.
Due to wanting a more compact design, now wondering would I be better getting a new one like the Schappach dp19, all new and shiny than getting a old British made one.
Wont be as powerful and accurate but random 6mm holes on 3mm plate?
Which are the best of the bunch?
oh I normally drill at lowest speed most of the time too
I know people hate Schappach but I've owned a Schappach cast iron timber table saw for 8 years and most useful workshop tool I've bought
