new Miracle Benders

Hi folks,

I really want a Miracle Bender and have been keeping my nose to the ground for a while with no joy.

All I can find is these new ones on eBay and I was wondering if anyone has bought one and has any feedback on them? The listing says 16mm round and square bar, could the folks who have an original Miracle Bender say how does theirs compares? Cheers for any input.

If you were in New Zealand I would sell you one. The one you linked looks poor quality to me, and there's a lot of paint everywhere where the metal is going to go and around the moving parts. I got this Samson (Elliott) bender and restored it back to how it should look. It's a really competent bit of kit, probably bulletproof too given it weighs a bloody tonne for the size it is!

One feature I like on the Samson is the little grub screw in the pivot which pipes oil to the centre. There is also a screw on the side to lock the 'vice' square in, a lot of the new models do not have this feature.

I had one of these and it was ok, after a year or so of lighter use than I suspect you plan the jaws were showing signs of wear.

I think it's a case of avoiding the cheap copies and finding one that gets near to the original miracle bender quality.
