New member looking for a mig

Hi everyone,

My names Tom and I'm in the market for a MIG.
I have £250 to spend. It's for a restoration on my mini.
I have been offered a Clarke 165te turbo with Gas and auot shading mask for £225. Is this a good deal?

Hi Tom and welcome to the forum, in the hobby range the Clarke are accepted by most as being as good as anthing else you can buy.

It is certainly capable of the work you require it for and with a bit of extra power for heavier jobs that crop up.

If in very nice condition I think the price is about right, however you mention it has gas, be aware most gas bottles are on contract and not transferrable, if it's the small disposable bottle, that has no real value, they are simply to expensive to use and only last minutes.

Make sure it puts down good runs and the mask still works as it should before parting with your hard earned.

Sounds like a good deal to me assuming its in good working order. The majority of stuff on eBay goes for high prices, couldn't find any bargains when I was looking.
