Joined specifically to ask for advice about running comedically large mig welders off of generators.
I'm actually a Chemical/Process Engineer by trade, but did my C&G level 3 in welding and fabrication and BS4872 (Mig) at night school out of a combination of personal interest and a sense that seen as I very frequently designed/specified welded structures at the time, it would be helpful if I understood how that welding would be done; but apart from odd jobs specifically to keep my Cert valid (it isn't anymore) haven't been a professional welder.
Work these days is managing a global team for a company that provides salvage, disaster recovery and environmental cleanup, so I'm less hands on and have to get my "actually doing things" fix entirely on my own time these days.
