Hi, I'm new to this forum, but not the internet and forums in general (I'm an IT consultant...)
I live in Ilkeston (between Derby and Notts), and my welding mostly involves working on my cars and bikes (cars more than bikes, as I can only weld steel with my current Clarke 151EN!). My most used bit of kit that I've actually produced is a car towing dolly - it's pulled cars well over a ton, so even if my welds aren't the prettiest, they are at least strong!!
One day I'd like to get myself a nice AC/DC Tig setup so I can learn to weld aluminium, but I've got to finish building my workshop/garage first (42x16 feet
).
I've got a couple of projects that are waiting for the garage to be finished, I've got a 1990 Merc 190e that I'm putting a 5 litre V8 into, a 1975 Chevy Blazer that will be undergoing a full body-off restoration soon (and will almost certainly require extensive bodily welding!) and a few other bits and bobs knocking about!
I'll no doubt be bothering you all with plenty of questions as time goes by, but until then, see you later!
