Hi all.
I'm wanting to run an electricity supply to my garage. This work will be carried out/signed off by a qualified electrician.
I'd just like an idea of the legal methods and best materials to be used when I get some quotes.
Requirements are:
*a dedicated socket for a portamig 185amp
*x2 double sockets for angle grinder/drillpress/radio/lawn mower (not all at once!)
*x2 60w strip lights
*x1 outside light
I'm aware that a henly 100a connector block can be used between the outgoing side of the meter and the existing consumer unit to take a 'separate' supply; the electricity company fitted an isolator when the house was rewired, so it can be made safe to fit the block whilst not interfering with the electricity meter.
The run is approx 10 mtrs from the outside meter box to the other end of the house, then the garage is separate from the house, approx 2 mtrs. Could the cable run along the wall and span the gap, or would it be best to bury underground?
Thank you in advance!
