new double socket next to consumer unit

in a flat ...consumer unit in cupboard, the only cables visible/easily accessible are the incoming from the meter/isolator, all the outwards go up to the loft then off to sockets/cooker etc

can I install a new socket direct to the comsumer unit somehow without it being notifiable?

yea just conect it to the 32 amp ring main mcb using 2.5mm twin and earth .and before anyone says it thats all that is needed not 4.0mm you can spur of a ringmain at any point in 2.5mm including the db and it dont need notifying as its just a spur of an existing circuit

yes good point i always give them each a tug even on spurs in sockets. quite often one can be loose even if they they all look as though there in

What is your view of putting crimp terminal sleeves in the wires .. it was demanded as defence standard wiring . I've carried on doing it ever since 1985

mainly only ever used in pannel wiring or appliances never in consumer units

rarely ever used. no one uses them in domestic consumer units

Could you theoretically spur a 32A socket off a 32A ring main? I realise the breaker would trip if the total load exceeded 32A.

No, that would not comply with the regulations, they only allow BS1363 (13A socket, 13A fused spur) accessories to be fed directly from a ring circuit.

1 no 13 amp spur is maximum of a ring main at any 1 point . some people do do it but not supposed to

It is required for fine stranded conductors only,
