New Clarke 155T Mig

Hey all,

Ive just been to pick up this welder today it was off a mate as hes upgraded. Its a Clarke 155T its in good condition paint flaking but nothing major. It came will a full large reel of 0.8 wire full new bag of shrouds, bag of various size tips and two guages one for large bottles and one for small. which cost me £40 for the lot.

I also have a 135T which uses the small bottles but how can I connect it to the new one as it takes the large ones. I will be getting a large bottle soon but just want to try it out.

If the gas tubes are the same size, unplug the tub from the regulator on you 135t and push the tube on the 155t in.
To get the tube out, pull the little metal collar towards the regulator, while its pulled, pull the pipe out.

Hi swiss the tube on new one is huge compared to the old welder.

Is there more than one disposable gas bottle you can get regarding the size ? as the regulator I have is just slightly larger than the clarke bottles.

Does the gas pipe have a screw fitting on the end of it, if not, how wide is the tube in mm?

In your original post you say you have 2 gauges one for big and one for small, do they both have the same size output on them? (small fitting like you used to connect to your old one) If they are both the same, you will need to get one that supports the larger bore output, like this for argon/co2 mix or this for co2 only bottle aka pub gas. Both these regulators require the gas pipe to have a screw thread on the end.

If you are still stuck, post a picture of the end of the gas pipe next to a ruler and I am sure someone will be able to help.

I have now sorted it I got a converter from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160426416947&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT it allows me to use the small gas bottles with the 4mm pipe.
