For some time, I have had this fine Porsche Teledial wheel knocking around in my garage. I originally purchased it for my car, but forgot to check the offset before bidding on it on ebay! DOH!!!

I did re-advertise it, but the offers that people were making for such a good wheel were insulting; so I decided to keep it as a wall ornament for the garage.
It then dawned on me that it may be much better used as storage for my untidy air hoses, which trip me up on a regular basis.
I wanted the wheel fixed to the wall, but also did not want to damage it - just in case I get the opportunity to move it on later. The best solution seemed to be to knock together a bracket, which would allow me to fix the wheel to the wall, using the original stud holes. Being at a bit of a loose end yesterday, I set about this.
It's not often it happens, but I found everything that I needed in my offcuts and 'lucy dip' box!
After using some clear plastic to make a template for three of the stud holes, I cut some short lengths of 4mm flat bar and welded them together to form a Y - matching the stud positions.
Next, some lengths of 25mm Tube, cut to length went on to the end of each 'finger' of the Y.
And, into the end of each of these, 3 wheel studs, salvaged from my wife's Renault Clio, when I acquired her some new alloys.
Et, voila....the completed bracket........

And, fitted to the wheel.....................

And, again, as luck would have it, I found three chrome lug nots from my old Volvo, which fitted nicely.....................

Today, it's going on to the wall.
It's rare that you find all the bits that you need for something like this knocking around in the garage - but it's proof (if any were needed) of the value in saving everything - or, hoarding, as my wife calls it!!!
