I finally choose my welder a nice shiney 151te. Took it out of the box and put it together. Then reading the instructions discovered I cant put a 13amp plug on it but have to wire it into a 15amp outlet.... this makes it difficult to move around.
What will happen if I put a plug on it ????

It'll work fine on a good quality 13A plug unless you attempt long runs on max power, then the fuse will blow which is what it's designed to do and no harm done.

it may blow fuses at full amperage but will not cause any harm to the machine or its warranty will be ok on lower settings

The worst that can happen is you will blow the 13 amp fuse in the plug, it should run ok at all but the highest settings, and may even be ok all through the range, I run a 160 amp eland flat out without any problems at all,
What ever you do don't be tempted to fit a higher rated fuse in the plug

Like the others say,there is no problem running a 151TE off a 13 amp plug.
If you run it flat out for a long period then the fuse in the plug might go but that's what it's for.

I have a 151 and have only ever had a 13 amp plug on it.
