Netbook

Hello,

Anyone got any recommedations for Netbooks? I need to buy some for a promotion at work, initially going to buy 5, want to spend up too £250 each, as they are giveaways I dont want to break the bank .

Trouble is, in that price range there are literally dozens to choose from even a lot of different models from the same manufacturer

Was at currys earlier, choose one to buy (mainly because it was a nice shiney red colour to match the Lorch colour) and when I asked about doing a deal on 5 OFF, they said there was nothing they could do! Not even throw in a poxy sleeve to protect it. So I won't buy from them out of principle now.

Any Brand/Model considered but it would be nice if it was available in Red.

Any ideas?

Why Netbook?. most do not have a hard drive and do very little,better choice is a notebook same size and has a hard drive for saving and doing work and often much cheaper. Notbooks has many features that the Netbook does not.

It was the acer aspire one that I had choosen but Currys were unwilling to do a deal with. I am searching online now for other suppliers.

Ref, your question Dave, its mainly portability, that we decided on a Netbook, the primary purpose of the item, is purely for showing promotional video and presentations at customers.

The screens on the netbooks are dire unless you are sitting on top of them, Even my laptop (15.5 in widescreen) is quite bad when viewed from a distance. As you say your main purpose is to show a video, why not consider a small flatscreen TV with built in DVD player? Ive seen loads during presentations and some even have an AV out to link to a projector, and any business that wants to show a vid to more than 10 people with have a projector.......
