I bought this about 8 years ago and it has been a great workhorse, but now the safety ratchet is worn.
I've asked BH Repairs to quote me for a new ratchet but expect it to be expensive, and expensive to ship. They said the design had changed a bit so the whole ratchet mechanism, and sleeve, both parts, would need to be supplied. They will get me a price and said that they could add it to thier next shipment from China. Pretty fair.
Anyway what's your thoughts on repairing the ratchet.
Build up the worn edge with weld?
Or grind out and weld in new blocks?
Or .......what's your thoughts.
The finger that engaged with the ratchet.
