Need someone to laser cut some Acrylic

I am looking for someone to cut a series of holes in some acrylic sheet for me. Does anyone know anyone or is anyone on here able to do this?

I can't help with the cutting but does anyone know why acrylic can be laser cut but polycarbonate cannot?

Water jet works for most things. Sorry I don't know any laser cutters but one off jobs can't be cheap.

Probably because of the gases that are released when cutting. Same reason you don’t do pvc, everything rusts in the machine if you try it. Polyurethane also a no no as the smoke generated adheres to the mirrors inside the machine. Found that out the hardway....

I used to use a laser cutter a lot when i was a school D&T technician, Co2 lasers will cut a lot of things but struggle with others, Acrylic (perspex) basicaly vaporises & turns to steam when the laser hits it, so the cut is clean. Polycarbonate reacts differently I was told something to do with the wavelength of the laser, It will melt & burn instead of cutting cleanly.
PVC when cut will give off chlorine gas & hydrogen chloride gas, this will react with any moisture vapour in the air to give you hydrochloric acid fumes which will eat the innards of your laser cutter away.
Polypropylene can be cut but melts & leaves a poor cut.
Leather & similar organic stuff can be cut & engraved but stink to high heaven.
Looking forward to getting my own new laser but it wont be for a while yet until mums house gets sold!

I can potentially do this for you.
Polycarb cuts but leaves nasty burn marks and stringy soot that's all kinds of nasty!
Let me know size and thickness and I will see what I can do.
