Hi guys.
I have been scanning over the posts and a few things make sense but thought id put my own post rather than piecing together an answer.I have a migmate 130 using 0.6 wire. I started off with gasless wire and seemed to be going ok but the welds just looked messy. I was advise by friends to try using gas.So i changed the wire and started with some gas.The thing is that now when i weld it just blows straight back to the tip and is a real pain to remove.i got anti splatter paste but it still blows back. From what i have read i should turn the speed of the wire up. But this didnt really help.The other thing i read is that i am too close perhaps.does this sound likeky or do you have any other ideas?

Do you have to change the polarity when going from gas less to gas?, Could be the problem. Sorry if you have already done so?.

Torch Lining's blocked and/or rusty wire. Replace the torch Lining (and wire if it's rusty)

It does sound as though the wire is not feeding correctly, you may have already done this but ensure you are using the 0.6 groove on the drive roller, the tension on the wire feed may need a bit more pressure, you should be able to stop it by gripping the wire as it comes out of the torch but not too easily.
You may have over tightened the new spool of wire as well, if the wire is not rusty have you access to a compressor to blow the debris and dust out of the liner?
Lot's of things to check but it will be one or maybe a couple of them and a new liner is cheap to install, usually makes a difference.
