Thanks. what would you value this machine?Did Stahlwerk in Germany make these?
Pretty sure they're still in business, although manufacturing is most likely to be China now.
Thanks so much. I live In Cape Town south Africa and we do use alot of 3 phase equipment here. Everything works just not in use anymore due to I bought a new MIG welder. The bad points:
It is old and rough-looking. The gas bottle tray is bent and rusty. The markings behind the 6-position voltage switch are cracked. Something is missing from the front panel, where the empty hole is, maybe an indicator lamp. It has a "220-0-380" switch, meaning it can run on single phase 220 volts Live to Neutral, or across 2 phases of a 380 volts three-phase supply, and it seems to have been fitted with two power cables & plugs. In the UK domestic market, where having a 3-phase supply is unknown, that option would probably put people off.
The good points:
It is made in Germany, which is good ( but it is an unknown brand ). If it is the same inside as the one I linked to in post #5, then it is very well-made; the transformers and inductor are copper-wound. It has a capacitor bank for smoothing the DC output. I cannot see the wirefeed assembly, you would need to check if the groove in the drive roller is for the wire size you plan to use, or can get easily. I do not know your market, but in the UK it would sell for about £150. If you know it works, have looked at the wirefeed, and inside it, and have been searching for a good solid old-fashioned transformer MIG, then it could be worth more to you.
