Need help with hydraulics on a little digger

Chris - everything is done with levers, so nothing to stop them from moving

Rich - it's new oil and filter, although someone did say, check the viscosity of the oil, it may be an incorrect grade but its run of the mill stuff (guy did say run thicker stuff, that way it wouldn't thin down so much, but I'd rather fix the cause if possible )

You should use the correct viscosity oil as the valves & pumps will be designed to take this and the clearances will be calculated to work with that viscosity.

Sounds like your pumps worn.

Hydraulics, great when they work, messy PITA, when they don't and expensive.

Don't even bother trying to rebuild a hydraulic pump IME.

Is it losing oil?

We've had such a range of problems, from pipes delaminating internally, and semi blocking, to the oil seals going on the pumps, and forcing the hydraulic oil though the crankshaft seal of the engine until the sump fills up and the engine runs away with itself.

Is there a pressure release valve? If when the oil gets to a certain temperature....? Just a thought?

I hate hydraulics incidentally.

I bought a mini digger once to dig the footings on my workshop and kitchen extension then sell on...i re-piped it prior to me using it then sold it...year later buyer called me to ask were i had bought my hoses from as they had all collapsed on the insides and took the pump out..I used a mobile hydraulic hose doctor who used all cheap Asian hoses as friends told me he had bought 2 containers from China full of pipes and fittings and has since built up a shocking name for himself for carrying on the same practice
