I need a little help,
At the moment I'm coming to the end of my NVQ level 2 and will be doing a basic B.S. 4872 coding initially in arc welding to get my foot in the door for progression in the future. I have work already waiting for me in Australia, (father in law runs and owns his own fabrication/heavy equipment repair business)
At the moment in England, I would like to get into the welding industry one way or another for experience and maybe a reference. I am competent and comfortable with arc welding, use of lo-hi's, rutiles, cellulosic's, open roots, uphill, downhill, flat, etc. and I'm competant with MIG, but prefer arc welding.
All of my work been so far in mild steel from 1.6mm - 12mm thickness.
My experience so far is MIG mot work on cars in a garage I work at.
I also have my own arc and mig welder at home and keep in practice, ( I learned to stick weld on an AC buzzbox!)
I have my own P.P.E, gauntlets, boots visors, fireproof overalls, ready for action.
I know its hard to take someone on who has no experience and hasn't put so many years in. Its also hard for people to believe what welds each individual is capable of producing. All I can offer is a reference from my tutor, pictures and a demonstration.
My tutor thinks my capabilities are worthy of going for pipe welding, and my quality of work and knowledge surpasses level 2 and 3....
So far my searches has only come up with production line MIG welding trailers and want 'time served' people. I dont want to work on a production line running the same beads hundreds of times each day...
I'm based in Manchester, and is prepared to travel up to 15 miles for this work. Minimum wage at least is a must..
Anyone?
