Hi there,
I found this forum and thought you all experts might help me out.
We are a manufacturer that engaged in lost wax aluminum alloy casting industry. Our products service for defence and aerospace using so they usually have a complex internal shape and the quality requirement are high.
We are now using a Chinese domestic EDM welder to fix the common defects such as blisters and blow-hole. I am not the welder but the purchaser so I did some homework on welder and I found that it seems EDM welder is relatively good enough to repair components like what we do. Our welder is around 2500-3000 USD.
Our production department wish to search one better welder or even try to find a best welder that suits their future quality requirement.
1. Since our products needs CNC machining and some other steps, so we want the welding(repaired) area to be extremely solid in case of any possible problem happen in the CNC process. Although we haven't met any big problem for now.
2. Is the repaired area possible to pass X-Ray flaw detection after welding?
3. Sometimes we are unable to reach the area which needs repair because the complex internal shape, is there any special welding head to solve this problem?
I am a layman and all these info above is what I searched in these two days. If you are in the similar industry, please provide me some information, welder brand name, models, prices etc.
Many thanks for your time and help
