Need g to make a shed.. Advice

Hi chaps n chappetes.

I'm moving shortly to a house with a smaller garage , however plenty of room in garden for a decent size shed which I'm planning to build purely for storage.
Il be wanting to keep the usual electric garden tools etc as well as all camping gear tent chairs blah blah so I'd like it to be damp/moisture free so what would my best bet be to build one.

Not sure on size yet until I actually move in but my plans are a concrete base with a brick layer base to lift it from the ground then a timber frame with ply/chipboard for Internal walls then clad with the tongue and groove or feather board for the outside, roof will be a flat sloped roof again timber based with the bitumin melt on type felt.

Would this be enough to keep out moisture etc so that nothing rots or gets damaged,

Any advice welcome before I start to order stuff ready as it will need to be one of the 1st jobs when I get in.

For what it's worth.
I have many years experience of timber frame. I would build it using pressure treated timber for bottom plates at least and pressure treated joists if you build a timber floor. Walls four by two at 16" on centre (or metric equivalent) using plywood outer sheathing (or flakeboard if you want to reduce cost). Tyvek or slating felt as an outer wrap then T&G or waney lap or similar on top of that followed by a couple coats of creosote. Or some sort of wood treatment at least.
Inside run all your wiring in the walls then fibreglass wool insulation between the studs on top of which you fasten plasterboard and then a quick tape up using joint cement.

Nobody listens to me with this though and go ahead with whatever then get back to me with condensation problems? Or damp or similar.

This is a pretty simplified version and you need to really look at timber frame construction techniques but it is not hard. Here in the UK timber frame seems to be 24" on centre (or maybe 500mm) but I have not been involved in the timber frame game here in the UK, only overseas. I could knock up a shed 12' x 12' approx in a day using a hammer and saw. Couldn't do it now though :-)

Not far off mine
Built from reclaim from an old flat roof.
5x2 treated 18mm Marine external. Then tyvek equivalent battens and featheredge
Been bone dry for years. Battens came down the concrete slab as well so no moisture from there either

Mine is 4x2 frame, 6mm marine ply, batterns, membrane, batters, 32mm feather edge. Frame sits on a ring of bricks, with damp coarse between the bricks and the frame. I really should insulate it, but my round too it got in the way.

If I were going flat roof I pay the extra and buy insulated roof boards. Just so easy.

oh im in the area as well but i have the nail gun which helps with frames to build

Will probably screw the frames together then borrow a friend's nail gun for board and feather edge if I go down that route.

id probable do it different concrete base then build my walls up 1 high then fill inside with concrete up to the first brick high

this lifts the concrete floor above the water line no creap back of water build another brick high then build the frame above that

might seam alot but it takes the wood out of the way enough and no water can flood your shed

but many just build there bricks straight onto the concrete and use cement to point against the wall your choice though

I shuttered and set my base between 150 and 400mm above ground level. (Sloped ground. )
Ply finished flush with the edge of the slab and battens ran to just shy of the ground.
Lot less work for the same result.
All timber bottoms were wrapped in dpm
