Reading Clevinski's thread here I got to thinking it would be nice to see another tutorial/section added to the forum showing not the whys and wherefores of a good weld but the actual fitting together of materials (other than sheet steel) prior to welding.It would be good for noobs and 'weekend welders' like me to see how a pro would cut and jig up for pieces of angle or whatever coming together at 90 deg,ie how to notch piece A to fit piece B. etc
As Clevinski seems to be finding out most books just cover the welding its self,but how many times do you do a job that just involves butt or lap welding two 4" x 2" pieces of plate together like in the books
As Malcolms paint spraying post shows theres lots of skill and experience on this forum that people can learn from.
We just have to watch that we don't give Malcolm a coronary with the stress of all the extra admin
