Just imagine it's really thick metal!I was after something properly made like the small one, not mashed together by me. I do metal I’m crap with wood.
There’s a reason they use wood not aluminium. Wood won’t sweat unless it literally gets rained on.just cut up a piece of ply , say a couple of inches over , get the rest of the ply cut into battens and glue them round the side to make a lip , run a flap disc over the sharp edges , wouldnt take half an hour , jobs a good un.
stick a couple of bits of rubber inside on the corners and the wood wont sit on the table and make it sweat , or oil the timber on the inside ,,,
or fold an alloy one ,,, ten min job.
