Need a sintered bronze spherical bearing for a mower

I'm doing maintenance on my ancient Suffolk Super Punch mower, and ideally, I like to replace the sintered spherical bear on the main drive shaft (see attached). It's 1 inch diameter. Mr Google has come up with little, except for bronze bearings in steel enclosures. I'll call a couple of people dealing with old mower bits tomorrow.

But if anyone has such a thing, or knows a likely supplier, please let me know.

The one above has the hole worn oversize? You could fit a delrin sleeve, or you could even slit that one and squeeze it over the shaft and braze it shut I guess. If you bore it out use super sharp tooling so it doesn't rub the oilite pores shut.

I'm afraid I don't have a lathe.... but I do have a vacuum oven! I've just popped the bearing in small beaker of oil and put it in the oven. When I began to pump it down, I was amazed to see lots of bubbles of gas come out of the bearing (the oil looked like beer with a head on it after a minute or two) - don't think I expected such visible effect. I'll keep it under vacuum over night and the oven is warming up to 100'C, so when I admit air in to it appreciable oil should go in.

The mower is at least 40 years old, the bearing has a bit more play than I think it should, but it's not so bad that I couldn't continue using it, especially when I've got some oil in there.

Ooh, well done you. I was going start tomorrow by calling an old guy (Jonathon; well known in the mower world) with a small business dealing with old mowers, who always gives good service, but generally, parts for the old Punches are getting harder to find, but it looks like this one is still around; Thanks. The initial tip off was "Simply Bearings", but they had nothing on their site.

I have both the owner's manual and the service manual for the Punch, and neither makes mention that the bronze bearing ought be oiled periodically and I've just over-looked it.

The old one (in the vac oven) is still giving off bubbles after 30 minutes; that's falls under "you learn something new everyday" I think.

Being a tight-fisted Yorkshireman, I've just bought one, working on the assumption that they are good for 40 years, but I am certainly not good for that time span .
I'll certainly keep the old one in a place I can find it, as it is not really bad, but at £7, I'll replace it, while the machine is in pieces.
