hi all my clarke e130 arrived today i got 2nd hand through fleabay for the princley sum of 55£
is there any tips you can give me to start using it
i can ark weld relatevely well

I think the tutorials on her should be a good start, also check the wire is not rusty..if it is you may be able to wind some off to get to the good stuff.

Ideally somone local would be handy to get you started and show you how to set up, other than that 'give it a go' and post your pics up for advice

Don't practice on thin stuff right away, its best to have a go on something 2 to 3mm, less chance of blowing through and gets you used to the feel of the equipment

Can you not take it in and get one of the welders to set it up for you..perhaps guide you a bit with a few runs

mmm think i ill do that its just getting the ga as theyve got a air liquide account and disposables are breaking the bank rather!!!

its worth checking local Calor gas supliers, it used to be a closed market but many others are supplying now.
Mine does CO2 for £13 a year rent and £13 refill, not quite as good as Argon/CO2 but still well useable
Their big botles of argon / co2 are £30 rent and £30 refill, not bad at just over £1 a week for a year, which is probably how long a bottle will last for hobby use.
