A question for those in the know?...
As NSSS 6th edition has a change in the requirements for NDT testing (thickness criteria now 30mm rather than 20mm, and (more importantly) a specified monthly inspection regime), NDT testing for us (which takes the form of MPI) is staring to get expensive to get our RWC in every time (£150 per half day).
I'm looking at getting 'a' qualification which lets me do my own MPI inspections. This should save money in the long run and avoid a few co-ordination issues.
I have been pointed towards a PCN Level 2 qualification by SCCS (Our CE/ISO9001 auditor) - 5 days and around £1500 at first glance, as well as cost of the testing gear.
Am I on the right tracks with this qualification or is there a simpler/quicker qualification that can be acheived that 'suitably' qualifies me.
I'm not sure if the PCN Level 2 is a widely recognised qualification?
Thanks.
