I have been looking at a 2nd hand NBC 250 inverter welder can anyone tell me any thing about them and if they are any good? i will only be using in a small work and it wont be used alot!
Norman Butters (NBC) welders are normally pretty solid pieces of kit.
There is some complication with the use of the name / quality of kit / time-line of the company. I can't remember it, but basically the old transformer migs were good and solid (NBC), then I think they became 'Butters' instead of 'NBC', and the 'duty' lightened up a bit. Finally I think there was a 3rd stage of the use of the name. So it depends when it was made / what it is, but someone will have a better memory than me and help you out more I expect.
As Al said the original Norman Butters machines was great. But I don't think this original company ever made inverter machines. Only Transformer based migs.
