Nasty fire near us

Right behind my warehouse.
Not too close though.
Just look how well the brick building survived. Awesome and right next to it.
Insulated reefer trailer so even worse.
Apparently blokes on site cutting up scrap. 4 fire engines and Police everywhere.
All over by the time I got here.

At 700 bar gas bottles start bulging I was told.

LPG shouldn't, unless the actual bottle gets hot enough that it fails, as they're designed to vent.
Other gases don't vent though. They just go bang once the bottle gets hot enough to fail.

Was looking at the safety valve yesterday on the tank at work, its a "new" tank fitted in dec by flo gas. Sticker on the side says flo gas, its newly painted and the makers plate on the end has obviously been masked over while it was re sprayed and reads (amongst other things) "Property of calor gas"

Yes they do at first but it can end up as a b.l.e.v.e. if it's not cooled.

A garage local tome had a fire 20 years or so ago where gas cylinders were involved, the remains were on show at the local welding suppliers

Remember the welding supplies place in Texas that caught fire ? I am surprised planners allow flammible gas storage in built up areas.

My son attended a big fire on an industrial estate between Goole and Howden Wednesday night, a Hydraulic parts supply company shed went up. I saw the tender go by at 3am.
Thursday I bumped into a mate; he had just started his day delivering for Warrburtons [thier depo is behind the unit on fire.] Said they had to move all the wagons as drums? were been launched 200yds into there yard.
