For rolling hoops for barrels or even rims ( tyres) for wooden wheels. When I was a child the local blacksmith had something similar mounted on a pole outside his smithy.

Thanks. Searched for jewellery rolling mill and found loads. Can't see myself getting into jewellery making.

I manufactured some devices similar to that, years ago, just two rollers, they were used for squeezing some sort of abrasive strip onto foam rubber, like the things you use for washing up. They weren't so pretty as this though, just made from basic steel stock.
