Small pipe hanger if used the other way up.

Studding locks the pipe in and supports it from above.

The larger sizes tend to be split rings, bent the easy way, with a small flange on each free end, through which the studding passed.

It is an attachment for a saddle bag on a bicycle, the weight of all the D-locks I carry around London have finally taken their toll.

Pete - sadly my workshop is long gone, the lathe sold and the welders a fading memory. I'd be making a right beefy version otherwise! Hope you're well fella.

Exactly that, thats what all ours are hung with

what is the external diameter of the tube they clamp around? the factory I work in is still half under construction so ripe for picking bits and bobs up.

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that all I needed to do was get in touch with the original manufacturer of the saddle holder and they're sending me some more so I don't need to improvise.

Thanks for the help though chaps and I'd happily buy a few forum mugs if they ever got produced!
